Acclaimed Dutch Producer, DJ and Master of funk BAKERMAT releases his highly anticipated second album ‘The Spirit’. The collection of work is Bakermat at his best and oozes high-energy and addictive beats. Consistently steps ahead when it comes down to his forward-thinking sound and unmatchable soundscapes, Bakermat built anticipation for the record with recently released gospel-house single ‘Ain’t Nobody’, enlisting LaShun Pace for the collaborative triumph. The album also included ‘Walk That Walk’ with Nic Hanson, which between them amassed a growing amount of over 2.5 Million streams - a foreshadowing of the success that’s yet to come with ‘The Spirit’. Incorporating musical elements that span across the entire sound spectrum, Bakermat continues to craft a mesmerising body of work by using jazz instrumentals, vibrant chimes, spoken word and powerful vocals that blend together seamlessly.

Het langverwachte album van Bakermat, de Nederlandse DJ, producer en master of funk is eindelijk uit. ‘The Spirit’, zoals het album heet bestaat uit twaalf songs, waaronder de onlangs uitgebrachte gospel-house-single ‘Ain’t Nobody’ (feat. LaShun Pace) en de track ‘Walk That Walk’ met Nic Hanson. Voor de titeltrack van het album kreeg de producer toestemming om een sample van Spirit In The Dark’ van de in 2018 overleden legendarische zangeres Aretha Franklin te gebruiken. Zoals altijd komt de DJ/producer met vooruitstrevende sounds en niet te evenaren soundscapes. De singles ‘Walk That Walk’, die Top Song op NPO Radio 2 was, en ‘Ain’t Nobody’ zijn nu al goed voor meer dan 3 miljoen streams, een kleine voorbode op het succes dat nog moet komen met 'The Spirit'. De samenwerking met Lex Empress resulteerde in het prachtige ‘Bye Bye’, waarmee het album afsluit. Bakermat, een fan van spoken word, wilde een nummer in de stijl van een intermezzo maken om het album mee af te sluiten en zo is ‘Bye Bye’ ontstaan. Het is eenvoudig, heel subtiel en emotioneel en het is een geweldige manier om de reis door alle werelden die in 'The Spirit' leven te beëindigen.
